"all the sorrows are but as shadows; they pass & are done; but there is that which remains"
- Liber AL vel Legis
High Light's debut is comprised of a series of chance events cultivated in improvisational sessions Between Scott Worley and Tim Gray.
Scott is a builder and performer of modular synthesis. Through his technical work at the Circuit Abbey, and his own project Metzger Tech, to his music composition as Jatun, Scott shows his deep commitment to modular synthesis. Tim’s compositions on the other hand have been primarily digital and software based. His background includes intensive study of music and sound. As his many monikers, he creates dynamic electronic music.
With these two at the controls this album is all transcendent harmonic monoliths quivering with ripples of dissonance and hypnotic arpeggiation. The cassette medium allows it to progress as an album, as one piece of work. Tapes are insistent on or at least lend themselves to linear long-form listening. This experience of music has been lost in our current digital music consumption habits. This album is an invitation to expand your attention.
